Keeping your SmartLase in A1 condition

You can almost set and forget your SmartLase laser coding system: there are no consumables, no warm up or shut down routines, and just three easy steps will keep it in perfect condition.

1) Clean the laser nozzle with acetone on a soft bud once a week. This will preserve the nozzle and ensure codes are easy to read.

2) Record the SmartLase's parameters, including laser intensity, font type, dwell time, image height and width so they can be reinstated if lost. Markem makes restoration of settings foolproof with its optional Expert Utility software - simply upload or download messages and parameters directly from your notebook or PC.
For maximum resolution, the focal distance of the laser should be 43.1mm from the front of the nozzle to the product. Make your own gauge to keep with the unit and check the distance regularly.

3) Once a year, treat your SmartLase to a comprehensive inspection by a trained Unimark technician.
